Quinceanera Support

Chairman Dennis Cummings Family Programs

A Higher Purpose

A quinceañera is a celebration, common in Hispanic cultures, that marks the passage of a 15-year-old young woman from childhood to adulthood. These celebrations can include Mass or prayer, music, dancing, food and other festivities. Ideally, the celebration should include the young woman and her family thanking God for the life she has lived and asking for His blessing going forward.

OVERVIEW

Councils can serve as a part of this important milestone by providing resources, manpower, faith gifts and general support for the thanksgiving Mass, prayer service and celebration. Knights can carry out their duty to form their families and support their parishes by assisting with this formative aspect of young women’s spiritual lives.

SUGGESTED DATES

In coordination with the pastor and families, find out the most appropriate time to celebrate a thanksgiving Mass or prayer service for the life of the young woman.
