MN Marathon for Nonpublic Education

September 29, 2018

State-wide date for the Minnesota Marathon for Nonpublic Education!

But … feel free to have your event on a different day, if it suits your school

The mission of the Minnesota Marathon for Nonpublic Education, Inc., in cooperation with the Minnesota Knights of Columbus, is to raise public awareness of nonpublic education by promoting fundraising initiatives.

The Marathon is a fun and effective way to raise funds for your school.

Since 1974, Marathon events have given students, school families, faculty members and friends an opportunity to show their school pride while generating important financial support for school programs. With fun events and service projects, the Marathon has served communities while supporting nonpublic education. In 1975, the State Council of the Knights of Columbus joined the effort. Since then, the Knights have provided financial support for Marathon events across the state.

Typically, students solicit donations for walk-a-thons, bike-a-thons, community clean-up events, and service projects matching students with community needs.

The Minnesota Marathon for Nonpublic Education has been successful in raising nearly $103,000,000 (that’s million dollars!) for nonpublic schools. In 2013, registered schools reported raising over $2.3 million! The MARATHON raises state-wide awareness of the importance of nonpublic education in Minnesota.

Schools who registered, paid, and report on time in 2016 were entered in a chance to win an iPad for their school!
