The Minnesota Knights of Columbus 2026 Soccer Challenge runs throughout the warm months, culminating in the selection of a State Soccer Challenge Champion, awarded on the first Saturday in October at an event ultimately involving the participant scoring highest in a series of twenty-five shots at goal.
The Council level Soccer Challenge is scored by “15 kicks at goal”. Both the Council Champion and the runners-up are invited to take part in the State Soccer Challenge. MN Knights of Columbus State Awards are awarded to children aged nine – fourteen after tallying the day’s events.
This timeline is best suited for Minnesota due to field access and seasonal outdoor weather conditions. The Supremes International Competition time ends December 31 each year with twenty-five shots at goal Champion score sheet being awarded in January/February that fraternal year.
Our Minnesota State Soccer Challenge will take place Saturday October 3rd, 2026, starting with registration/check in for volunteers at 8:30 AM. We will have access to the park and the public restrooms for the entirety of our event. Prior to the event the fields have to be chalked and the goals need to be preparedd for our event.There will be some host council provided concessions available. Opening Ceremonies and the beginnings of the asctual events will start at 9:30 AM with an awards presentation to begin shortly after 11 when all contestants have been scored and all high score “ties” are broken, and the coveted title State Champion can be determined. Because we live in Minnesota, we are aware that weather can be fickle, and over our history the event has been conducted rain or shine. In Bloomington the primary decider on playability is the City. They have a strong desire to protect their turf, so even though there might not be lightning, heavy rain can cancel an event. Cross your fingers.
