Chaplains’ Gathering

MN KC Blog * Written by David Whatmuff

The 5th Annual Chaplains Gathering was held on May 16th and 17th at the Christ the King Retreat Center in Buffalo.

Brother priests, including Council Chaplains and Former State Chaplains gathered on the afternoon of May 16th along with Associate State Chaplain Fr. Jeff Horesji and State Officers for a social followed by afternoon prayers and dinner. We were then given an inspiring address by the Director of the retreat center, Fr. Jim Deegan, with the theme “Take Courage”.

(Fr Jim’s notes attached)

We gathered early next morning for prayers and Celebration of Holy Mass, presided by Fr Jeff. After breakfast a number of the attendees played 9 holes of golf, and then the remainder of us joined them for lunch at the golf club. Some of the group played the “back 9” after lunch, and others who had driven in from further distances, started off for home.

Everyone agreed that is was a relaxing and enjoyable time, and resolved to “spread the word” for the next such occasion!
