2022 State Free Throw Results
After a two year break we had a very good contest on Saturday, April 2. The new addition at Cathedral High School in St. Cloud made the contest much easier to set up and for the contestants and their families to enjoy the day. We had 111 contestants and the competition was great with many shoot outs to break the ties after the first round of shooting. We had no perfect scores, but Marcus Burt from Andover did have a perfect 25 of 25 at his regional to earn the first new commemorative “Perfect Score” medal complete with a nice display case to hold it. All 12 free throw regions had contestants winning trophies with Region 1 in Southwestern Minnesota having five first place winners and one second place winner.
I have attached the top three finishers or champions listing and also the complete contestant for you to check on your region and for the State to post on the State website.
The volunteers did a great job of checking in the contestants, getting them to their place, and working the baskets to make sure the contestants had every opportunity to get a high score. Our scorers table checked out all the sheets and our State Officers handed out the trophies. Thank you to the 45 volunteers we had to make this work so well.
We had two photographers on site to take group, winner, and action pictures and we hope to have the pictures posted on the website in the next few weeks.
Thank you to you my regional coordinators and the districts and councils for running the contests to send us our contestants.
Finally thank you to all the parents for raising and supporting such a fine group of young men and women that we had the pleasure to host.
